Biography
Ian William Craig weaves into his creative tapestry all manner of thread: he is a designer, an artist, an educator, a musician, a classically trained vocalist, a writer, a photographer, a performer. His creative pursuits have taken him and his work around the world, but his base of operations was the northern outpost of Edmonton, Canada for a number of years. He received there both a BDes in Visual Communication with Distinction and an MFA in Printmaking from the University of Alberta before deciding to migrate west to the warmer climes of Vancouver, where he is currently enjoying a cup of tea and watching the endless rain. He is internationally exhibited, has published books, put out albums, and run marathons. Being fluent and comfortable in so many disciplines has given him an acute attention for the manners in which these different fields pour together, and he has used his variegated background to reveal poetic spaces of consilience where they mingle with one another. His voice is rich, his artwork and designs are eloquent, he has mutant typeface identification powers and he can recite most of Star Trek VI verbatim with very little in the way of coaxing.
