Amalgam

Every year, the graduating class of BFA students pinch their already dwindling supply of pennies (arts funding people, it’s awesome) and put in for a catalogue to accompany their final show as students before sailing off into the world, newly minted pieces of paper clutched in their creative hands. Amalgam was the theme for this particular year, but I managed to sway the aesthetic away from any unpleasant dental references. My discussions with the class seemed to revolve around the idea of contrast between opposites, so I came up with a system that was expressive, energetic, geometric clean. The usual assemblage of posters, postcards and didactic panelling accompanied the 64-page catalogue.
